Asus
Asus are based in Taiwan. They are one of the major laptop manufacturers in the world. Although falling behind the other big boys like Acer, IBM and Compaq, Asus have managed to stage a partial comeback recently.
With a continuing shift to smaller, lower powered home computers and laptops, Asus have taken the plunge with their latest offering of Asus Eee computers. The Asus Eee PC, the Eee being an abbreviation of “Easy to Learn, Easy to Work, Easy to Play” tries to hit the spot of being a functional computer that is super-portable. The Asus Eee PC was originally an ultra mobile pc, but there is also a newer model, set for release pretty soon, that gives a fully featured Asus Eee PC computer for the home in a similar size package to the ultra mobile PC version.
With the ultra mobile PC sector only just getting started, but gaining momentum, Asus hopes to cash in on being first into the sector. Both the Asus Eee computer ultra mobile PC and the home desktop version of the Asus Eee PC are attractive to buyers of small, functional computers, but what about the rest of the range.
Asus do produce a whole range of laptops and notebooks, in various sizes and with different processors and specifications.
Asus have made a real drive to increase customer satisfaction. One of the most outstanding selling points for Asus computers is a one-year accidental damage warranty. They will fix up the computer if it get anything spilled on it, gets burnt in a fire, gets dropped or gets damaged because of a power surge. This takes quite a lot of confidence in their products because if their products are inferior, they will have to deal with a lot of support requests and lose a lot of profits replacing damaged equipment.
So, whether a regular laptop computer or the ultra mobile Asus Eee PC, you can be quite sure of making a good choice when getting an Asus.
